OneSchool Global (OSG) is bringing forward proposals to deliver a new future-ready school campus in Cold Ash, West Berkshire.
Located on land near St Finian’s Catholic School, the proposals represent an important opportunity to deliver a modern school campus while improving road access to St Finian’s School.
The proposals come in response to a growing need for a high-quality, modern, campus in the region for OSG pupils. In meeting this need, the new campus would replace two existing OSG schools in the Greater Reading area which do not adequately meet the needs of the students and staff.
To achieve ambitions for a new future-ready school campus in Cold Ash, West Berkshire, the plans will see the removal of the derelict Convent & Retreat Centre and repurposing of the surrounding site.
The proposals have been designed to be sensitive and appropriate for the site and surroundings, while creating a school that will allow staff and students to thrive. It will serve up to 120 pupils and provide both primary and secondary learning facilities.
As part of ambitions for long-term, sustainable use of the site, the proposals have also been designed to target BREEAM ‘Excellent’ – one of the highest accreditation’s given by the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for buildings and organisations. It will be a state-of-the-art highly energy and water efficient building.
As part of the part of the process the plans have also been developed in close collaboration with West Berkshire Council and St Finian’s School to ensure the campus is future-ready while alleviating current congestion issues.
Ahead of submitting a planning application, a public consultation has been launched to offer the local community an opportunity to view the proposals and provide their feedback on the proposals.
The public consultation event will take place on Thursday 3rd July 3:45PM – 6:30PM at St Finian’s Catholic Primary School.
Feedback from the local community is very important to OSG and all comments received during the consultation will be carefully reviewed by the project team.
Details on how to submit comments can be found on the Your Feedback page.
